Important note about asbestos

We specialize in the removal and hauling of standard gypsum board debris. If a project involves materials with potential asbestos content, such as old popcorn ceiling, vinyl tiles, or certain paneling mastics, asbestos removal or asbestos remediation must be handled by licensed specialists first. If you suspect asbestos:

  • Pause work and arrange an air quality test or material lab test.
  • Do not cut, sand, or disturb suspected materials with a reciprocating saw, oscillating multi tool, or screw gun.
  • After certified remediation, we can return to haul bagged, cleared debris that the asbestos contractor has released.
  • We do not provide asbestos removal or testing services.

Ideal drywall removal situations

  • Post kitchen remodel debris piles, bath upgrades, and room additions
  • Water damage, tear-outs, and ceiling repairs after leaks around plumbing fixtures
  • Basement finishing, framing changes, and firing strip adjustments
  • Rental turnovers and real estate make-ready cleanups
  • Contractor debris after a rough-in, drywall installation, skimming coat, or drywall finishing pass

Prep tips to speed things up

  • Consolidate loose panels and small pieces into a single area if possible.
  • Score the seams with a utility knife and separate the trim carefully with a pry bar if you’re doing a light tear-down before we arrive.
  • Remove electrical cover plates and cap lines safely, avoiding disturbance of any suspected asbestos content.
  • Please let us know about parking, elevator access, or any building rules.
  • Please mention fragile surfaces or new flooring so we can bring extra protection.
  • Note stairs, tight hallways, crown moulding, or baseboard moulding to protect, and any second-floor pickups during scheduling.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can you remove drywall from upper floors or basements?

Yes. We navigate tight spaces and stairs safely, using floor and wall protection to ensure a safe environment. We also identify nail location hazards to prevent snags on finishes.

Do I need to bag the debris?

Bagging helps, but isn’t required. We load loose and bagged material. If you’ve pre-cut with a utility knife and stacked the small pieces, please let us know, and we’ll come prepared to move them quickly.

Do you recycle drywall?

Where facilities accept gypsum for recycling or reuse, we prioritize those options. If recycling isn’t available, we follow compliant disposal guidelines and avoid practices that increase airborne fibers. Negative air machines can be used to control dust during the loading process.

What tools do you use when light disassembly is necessary?

We may use a pry bar to lift trim, a screw gun for fasteners, an oscillating multi tool for precise cuts, and a reciprocating saw only when safe and appropriate. We never disturb materials that may contain asbestos; asbestos removal must be done by licensed professionals first.

Can you take other construction debris with the drywall?

Absolutely. We can haul trim, faux tile panels, baseboard molding, crown molding offcuts, vinyl tile packaging, and more as part of our construction debris removal services. If you’re concerned about sound issues, such as the triple leaf effect in wall assemblies, let us remove the old layers so your drywall finishing plan can proceed smoothly.
