Junk Removal in Richmond, VA
Richmond homeowners, landlords, and property managers call when the pile has outgrown the car, the curb, and everyone’s patience. Text photos and a number comes back before a truck is dispatched. On arrival, the crew walks the pile with you, quotes the load, and starts hauling once you approve the figure. One practical difference: the city’s curbside bulk program refuses construction debris, carpet, bricks, drywall, pipes, and lawn mowers. This crew takes those. Call (804) 546-0006.
How Our Crew Calculates Your Price
Two prices are published right now: $75 for a single item pickup and $100 off a full trailer load. Everything above that depends on the specific job parameters.
ϟ Key Factors That Move the Number:
14-Yard Trailer Volume
How much space your items take up inside our heavy-duty haul trailer.
Location & Access Trips
Stairs, elevator runs, tight attics, or long parking distances to the loading door.
Disassembly & Heavy Material
Dense debris like concrete, dirt, shingles, or furniture requiring disassembly.

The City of Richmond runs bulk and brush collection every other week, on your normal trash day during your recycling week, per City Code Section 11-103. Items go out the night before, next to the cans, in the same spot as household trash. If the crew misses the pile, the city returns by Saturday of that recycling week. If items are still sitting there by Saturday of the second recycling week, the city asks residents to call 3-1-1 rather than CVWMA. (City of Richmond, Bulk and Brush)
The prohibited list is where most Richmond cleanouts stall. The city will not take construction debris, tires with rims, carpet, auto parts, bricks, drywall, pipes, paint, gas tanks, propane tanks, or lawn mowers. City crews also do not enter private property, even when a city tree causes the mess, so debris has to reach the property line. Brush pieces must be cut to 48 inches or shorter, and crews carry no chainsaws. (City of Richmond, Bulk and Brush)

Expedited city pickup exists but is narrow. A 24-hour bulk and brush request runs $100 per request, paid by check or money order only, and appliance collection runs $50 per appliance or request. (City of Richmond, Bulk and Brush)
Residents who want to self-haul have two city options. The East Richmond Road Convenience Center at 3800 East Richmond Road is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Hopkins Road Transfer Station at 3520 North Hopkins Road is open Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (City of Richmond, Bulk and Brush)
Where this crew differs: carpet, drywall, brick, pipe, lumber, lawn mowers, and shed debris all go on the trailer, and everything comes out of the attic, basement, or backyard rather than waiting at the curb. Hazardous waste is not accepted here either, and neither the city program nor this crew takes paint, fuel, or propane.
Services, Sorted By What You Are Actually Dealing With
Moving out, or selling a home. Our move-out cleanout usually means furniture, a mattress, and whatever the buyer’s inspector flagged. For listings, the goal is a photo-ready house by the shoot date, which is why real estate cleanouts get scheduled around the photographer rather than the closing. See furniture removal, mattress removal, and real estate cleanouts.
Settling an estate or clearing a parent’s home. These jobs move slowly at first and then all at once. The crew can work room by room so family members review what leaves, and a Richmond estate cleanout often ends with a garage, attic, and shed that nobody has opened in years. See estate cleanout, attic cleanout, basement cleanout, and hoarder and home cleanout.
Mid-renovation. This is the gap the city program leaves open. Tear-out debris, drywall, tile, cabinets, and old carpet are all prohibited curbside, and a rented dumpster on a narrow Richmond street brings its own problems. See construction debris removal, drywall removal, carpet removal, and concrete removal. Two Richmond-specific guides are worth reading first: appliance disposal and recycling in Richmond and how to recycle concrete in Richmond.
Turning a unit between tenants. Property managers care about the turnover window, not the pile. Eviction and foreclosure cleanouts get handled as one visit so the unit is photographable and re-listable the same week. See eviction cleanouts, apartment cleanout, storage unit cleanout, and commercial junk removal.
Clearing the backyard. Hot tubs, sheds, playsets, above-ground pools, and old decks are all tear-out jobs with disposal attached. See hot tub removal, shed removal and cleanout, playset removal, and yard waste removal.
Doing the work yourself. A 14-yard dump trailer rental makes sense when the project is spread across a weekend and the driveway can hold the trailer. The tradeoff is real: you load, you schedule the drop and pick-up around your own week, and heavy material still has to be carried out. Full-service removal costs more and takes one visit. On Richmond blocks where the alley is the only access, or where street parking is already tight, confirm where the trailer can legally sit before booking. Contact us to confirm whether a right-of-way or street occupancy permit is required for a dump trailer parked on a Richmond city street, and the current rental period and rate for the 14-yard trailer. See trailer rental.

“We hired Luis and his team to grab some leftover items from a move. We received a quote over the phone which was professional with a quick turnaround. We had more items than we expected to junk at the time of the quote and Luis remained professional and got the job done quickly and reasonably priced. I would recommend over and over.”

What You Can Count On
Our phone line is open 24 hours, Sunday through Saturday, and the crew works from a 14-yard dump trailer rather than a rented box truck, which matters on blocks where a full-size truck cannot turn around. If you cannot be on site, ask for a photo once the load is gone. Hazardous waste is never accepted.

Luis is the best! Exceptionally responsive, adaptable, reasonable -- just all of the things you want. We're moving and we realized the pile of trash was getting bigger and bigger and becoming unmanageable. Luis came on the SAME DAY, knocked it out quick and for a very reasonable price. We have more stuff to do during the move in a couple days, and we're 100% calling Luis for that! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Posted on Google![]()

Let me tell you how GREAT this business is...If you dont book these guys, you are missing out. I needed to get rid of some old furniture before I moved and I was stressed about it. I saw the reviews for this place and contacted them last night. In less than 30 minutes, Luis text me for pictures and provided a great estimate/timeframe. Both Luis and Angel showed up earlier than I expected and hauled off my bulky furniture, including a bedframe and 8 ft couch. This was done in very fast timeframe like some Marvel superheroes - it would have taken me all day to do that myself. They are both very respectful and polite. I am working from home and offered to help, but they were like "we got it, keep working". I am so BEYOND GRATEFUL and I will gladly recommend them to anyone that needs service. Luis, you got a customer for life!Posted on Google![]()
